With the UK going bonkers this weekend over a certain Queen's jubilee here at mytea@om we will instead be celebrating the life of the far superior Queen of Disco, listening to her classic LP's, remixs & re-edits. One such gem was a single sided limited release back in '09 by Scottish producerWilliam Threlfall. A real hard to find piece of wax, fusing Donna vocals from 'I Feel Love' and Williams previously released 'The Shivering.' Still one of the best remixes to date.

Jus dropped into my inbox from the irresistible remixer/re-edit master Leftside Wobble, here he's re-jiged the Classic Bobby Konders track, an adaption of the intro section that uses another BK classic 'Nervous Acid' to draw you in whilst maintaining the atmospherics of the original Mutabaruka spoken word intro before dropping into the classic groove...Niceeeee!

A great mix to share comes courtesy of DJUMB of Generation Bass as he explores the DeeeeeP side of South African House muzik and includes some of the current big boyz, Black Coffee & Culoe De Song.
He says of the mix... This one I dedicate to those boyz who partly inspired it: ENZO, aka ERNEST aka “THE CEO OF THE STREETS”andTHABANG aka THA EYEand our trusted driver and now brother,Proff. It is also dedicated to all my SA brothers and sisters. Keep moving forward, your forgiveness is awe-inspiring! In a way, this mix also mirrors some of my emotional journey in SA! People always say that “you feel a thing” that people who go to South Africa say one can feel? The mystery that enters into your soul about that place where man was born? It’s a sacred place down there! …“This is the DeeeeP SoutH SessionS!”
Craving for some fresh noodles this week, as i'm sure my boy the JP will indulge in copious amounts of while he and his Fam jet over these shores for a well earned two week break..So to go with those buckwheat beauties, here's Mr Scruff & Kaidi Tatham laying down a sweet and sour groove from trus' me's Prime Numbers label that dropped in January....delicious!

Anyone know the EWF sample?...in comments please.
"Oh my stomach" sounds like a moodyman/parish soul chugger and is the right one for some late night funky business....nice!

Well after receiving a heads up on this I just couldn`t resist more from Kyle Hall as he comes this time with a remix for a brooklyn based duo called The Hundred In The Hands. Their influences range from everything from the elegant French pop of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin to classic dub, house and post-punk. Detroit’s young master proves once again why he’s so hotly tipped to be big in 2010 by kicking up a flurry of motor city rhythms and nimble-fingered soulful house. Released on Warp Records on April 5th, There is a free promo 320kps mp3 available for download courtesy of XLR8R......So go get your free mp3 quick fix Link here..Oh no! in & Out...

As you can imagine with a new arrival in da house and her settling into her rhythm, i was a little busy over the weekend....and getting all mushy over her. Anyway enuff of my family bliss and back to some tune bliss!!
Kyle Hall's"The Perfekt Sin" 12" is only the second release on his own Wild Oats imprint and already the young man, he's only 18 is receiving much critical acclaim.. Schooled in the art of the deepest Detroit house tradition by mentors Rick Wilhite (Three Chairs) and Mike Huckaby, Hall’s productions look resolutely forward and refuse to be constrained by the established formulas of the genre. No matter what style of music he tries his hand at, he always leaves his own singular imprint..So good tings a gwan from the lad...A new production for hyperdub is coming soon well worth checking out.

Here`s a recent mytea@om mixtape to share courtesy of a lovely young friend and a sweetheart to boot Sayuri-chan....I made this up for her birthday and she has kindly given me permission to post it up for all of you guys & gals....so go on, indulge yourself in a little (winter or summer as the case may be) boogie around the house. Starting off with some percussive beats, gently into the dubby techno, thru the deep house and exiting with jazz..
Another little break taken here at mytea@om, many things had to be organised before the long winter hibernation that is life here in these northern climes of Nippon...Also its good to take a back seat once in a while and evaluate everything with fresh enthusiasm...Hope you all didn"t miss it too much!
I had become a wee bit nostalgic while away, crawling thru some dusty old classics and came across this gem from the early 90`s...From the boys that defined progressiveness. The Professor (Neal Barnes) and Pauly D, AKA LEFTFIELD. It has and always will be one of my greatest pleasures to have known them personally....They even helped us out when I and 2 co-founders started our own independent dance record shop around the same period....(big respex always to you boys) This track was caned back then and could still get an airing today and give you goose bumbs!...Released on the Outer Rhythm label......enjoy!
